Thanks for the reply Jacqueline, I'll try sending the contact message.
I have a record of the marriage that I got from ancestry.com, it has all the important details that you mentioned.
Let's see how we go :)

If you think that the poster of this thread still has the same e-mail as in 2007, click on his name to send a contact message.

To research the Bateman's, you could obtain a copy of this marriage cert.................to learn Ethel's declared age, and her father's details (if known)

Hi, I know you posted this a while ago now.
I am a direct descendant of Edward Harcourt Barrett and Ethel Mary Bateman. My grandfather is the child, Edward, that you mentioned.
I have a great deal of information on their family, and have tried to delve into the Bateman side as best as I could (I'm located in Adelaide, South Australia).

Trying to find EDWARD BARRETT / BARRATT, an Australian serviceman who came to England in WWI & met & ?married ETHEL MARY BATEMAN & they had a child, also Edward. They then moved back to Australia ?by ship from London to Adelaide sometime at the end of/after WWI & had at least 2 more children there. Any info gratefully received, many thanks!
