hi Jane Thanks so so so very much, your an absolute angel. James & Margaret were married in 1840 Leith, so should have been on a census somewhere. And thanks for helping fill in some of the blanks, gives me a little more info to go searching with. Regards Jeanette

Hi Jane Thanks for letting me know the occupation of Arthur Parish but you have made me wonder about the next door neighbour now. They say most adopted children were taken in by neighbours, aunts, godparents etc. Is it possible to have the neighbours name etc just in case it might mean something down the line. I know it's probably a long shot but you never know. BIG Thank you, Kim

Hi Jane Thankyou for the info on the Parish family in London. Not sure if they are connected yet but will check them out. Sorry to ask after you have looked but did you notice what the fathers job was. l forgot that on Albert Ernest Parish marriage cert it states father Deceased but only gives the surname Parish but no first name and the occupation is down as carman. We are not sure if this info is made up. Thanks once again for helping me out on this. Kim

Jane Report 24 Oct 2006 21:23

Hi Hetty no definitley Marylebone........ on the list of names i gave you for 1891 census, the 1st place name is where they were born, 2nd is where they are living ( so all members of household will have same 2nd place!) but there is a chance it doesn't exist anymore so won't be on multimap, you would need an old map to find it from 1891 !! Jx
