My great-grandfather came from Abersychan, his name was George Beddow and married Susanne Harris. They had five sons, one of which was my Grandfather William Beddow. They migrated to the North East of England during the late 1800's in order to find work in the steelworks in either Middlesborough or Stockton-on-Tees. He married PatienceTaylor, daughter of Benjamin Taylor, who also came from the same area in Wales. I would be very interested to hear from anyone who recognises the family and are perhaps also relatives. I am the daughter of William Beddow, son of William and Patience and my name is Muriel Beddow. |

My mother's parents were from Abersychan and Blaenavon. Her mother was Elizabeth Ann Beddow (1870-1926), youngest child of Charles Beddow and Mary Harris Beddow. She had a cousin Dan Beddoe who came to America and was a well known tenor. |
