My mum-in-laws gran has caused me so much trouble--first I find out she's been married before--but could I find her maiden name? Finally found ity after months and a dud certificate!! then I find she'd gone and died young at 46, poor thing of TB leaving 11 kids--then (to complete the puzzle for mum-in-laws 80th birthday crosstitch family tree surprise) I needed her mums maiden name-BUT could I find Rebeckahs birth registration? no--WELL finally I found her marriage certificat to m-i-l's granda--and guess what--someone fibbed about her age on her death cert and the 1901 census--and hey presto I got her birth--and she was 5 years older than hr death cert etc says!!! I'm sure they did it delibrately because they knw in a hundred years from thn they'd give their Gg grandaughter-in-law a massive headache!!! |

Well done! It seems to be a discovery day today. All these bits of info & paperwork floating to the surface - it's very encouraging for the rest of us! Christine |
