You must have been really chuffed to see your words in print.

Hi...Thanks...My youngest son had the book published, for my 80th birthday,he works for Oxford University Press,, but an American friend did it...A hardback copy for me and 25 paperbacks for family and friends...Only 30 poems in it...Got another 60+ ready when he is...
The only drugs I've ever had are prescription one's for various problems..
This writers thread sounds interesting...where do I find it please???
If you would like some more I'll put them up...I have 7 comedy ones about "MY MATES FEET"".. They have given us some laughs over the years...The old saying is "two left feet" his don't know which direction there going or where they should be....Bye for now....LES.

How interesting Leslie!

I expect you have seen there is a writers group thread on here? We have lost several of our poets who would have been better placed to comment, I'm not! lol I like reading poetry but couldn't presume to critique it really.

Some very powerful images here though

"Butterflies,,crimson,,yellow,,blue,,
Fluttering by, then hesitate,,
Becoming elephants crushing tigers
Protecting me from viscious claws of death.."

Perhaps you might be willing to post on the writers group thread just a little about how you went about publishing your poems? It would be of interest I know. Well done to you for having done so. :-)

Fireflower I need you.
I must inhale your aroma.
The smoke I blow to all four walls.
Soon I am flying high,,so high..
Fireflower takes age from age,,
Generation from generation,,to blissfulness.
I see beautious fishes in a void sea,,
Butterflies,,crimson,,yellow,,blue,,
Fluttering by, then hesitate,,
Becoming elephants crushing tigers
Protecting me from viscious claws of death..
Snakes swaying to unheard music
Hypnotising me with their dance..
Fireflowers perfume lets me taste paradise..
I am speeding through space
To unknown landscapes beyond,
And I see the forbidden gardens..
I see clearly,but can't understand
As my mind seperates from me,,drifting away
Through these scenes of beautiful illusions
In a never ending experience.....

Any comments welcome...I have had a book of poetry privately printed only 25 copies....This is the first to go on open view.... LES...
