Great news Sharron, hope Fred enjoys the presentation and the Cava, I must ask my neighbour if he was involved. I seem to remember he got a medal to do with the Russian convoys a few years back tho, wonder if it's the same thing |

From one Fred to another ,well done friend ,all of you should have been recognized many years ago ,by our government ,and not ,at the time, left to the Russians to give all the lads on the Arctic convoys recognition.Fred. :-D |

He didn't volunteer. None of them did. They went where they were sent after they were conscripted. |

My Great uncle died when HMS Forester was hit, those men must have felt as though they were forgotten :-) |

A couple of hours with the Daddies Sauce and I think the other medals are just about fit to go down the church hall with us. |

He might scowl but inside I bet he will be pleased and proud, Sharron. I think my neighbour got a letter about his and had to fill in a form before it was sent. Don't think he applied for it. |

I have just been researching a man who served in submarines in Arctic Circle from 1916-1919. I could not believe how brave he was. |
