Hi Julie,

I have a couple of trice trees. One includes your William George Trice. He is a difficult man to find. Have you had any more success in tracking down his death certificate?

Regards,

Glenn

So I think that William George TRICE died as a "missing person", no one has made a claim on his Will.... if he had one. Without a death cert no one can make a claim. He never divorced, so his estate should have passed to my Nan his daughter.
Is it to late to report him as a missing person and then after 7 years get a death cert to apply with the govenment to make a claim on his estate????
If anyone can help me on this
Thank you

Julie

Rose Ellen Quincey was baptised 20/10/1861 St Mary Magdalene Woolwich daughter of Thomas and Emma
1871 Wellesley Terrace Plumstead
Emma Quincey 33 wid Laundress b Bedminster Somerset
Emma L 15 b Walton Cross herts
Laura E 12 b Plumstead
Rose E 7 b Plumstead

Yes, Rose Ellen Trice married George Newland 1899 Dec Q Portsea 2b 1135
1901 1 Herbert |Terrace Portsea
George Newland 43 Labourer HM Dockyard b Netley Hants
Rose 39 wife b Woolwich
Rose Trice 11 b York
WILLIAM 9 b Aldershot
Colin Scarley 3 grandson b Portsmouth

So Rose Ellen was born Quincey, marrried Whittick, thenTrice, then Newland!

I have searched the BMD for deaths after 1934 of all William Georges born 8/2/1892 and can find nothing that seems a likely assumed or misspelt name
There is always the possibility he took the name of the "woman he ran off with" -did anyone ever know her surname?

Julie

Julie Report 10 Aug 2010 14:15

Confused with Rose Ellen Quincey.
William James Trice was her Second Husband? and when he died she married George Newland ? Army records show William James Trice Married to Rose Whittick (Widow) in Woolwich in 1887 ?
