Would that meant both sets of parents had died?

What would be the reason that a marriage report of John Ridley and Anne Brown, didn't have either parents mentioned only witnesses, in 1761 Knarsedale, Northumberland.

Rev. Thomas-Yates Ridley died at Heysham, near Lancaster, in 1838,
aged 42 years. Rector of that parish. He was of Peterbouse, Cambridge,
B. A. 1820, M. A. 1823; and was instituted to his living in 1824, on his
own petition. Thinking it to be the duty of a clergyman to look to the
temporal comforts as well as the spiritual wants of his people, he studied
medicine at Edinburgh. He was at once the eloquent and faithful min-
ister, the kind and bountiful, and the attentive and skilful physician of
the poor people in his parish, who lived in a village six miles distant from
other medical aid.

2 Marriages?
I have found 2 marriages Margaret Ridley to Thomas Vipond
One is Knarsedale 15/7/1784 and another 2 weeks earlier in Cumberland. Margaret Ridley is daughter of John Ridley and Anne Brown married 1761 Knarsedale.
I have found children that could be belong to them in Cumberland but not Knarsedale. Could they be married in 2 places at different times?
thanks Darryl

Just received marriage details of John and Anne -no parents named
It states John Ridley of the parish of Middleton-wondering where that would be? in the presence of George Ainsley and Thomas Horn -could they be relatives?

28.12.1771 John son of John and Ann Ridley of Barns Town Foot?

It may help in my search

Hi Darryl,

I have access to the Manchester Libraries site and have searched for the info for you but there is nothing there I am afraid.

There was one small mention of a 'Rev Thomas Yates Ridley, Rector of Hesham near Lancaster and Magistrate of the County' but this was included in an article about someone else so no further info was given about him.

Also, there were several adverts regarding the sale of the estate of a T.Y.R 's estate at Heysham around 1854 and a notice in 1856 asking for anyone with a debt or a claim on the estate of TYR deceased to come forward.

Nothing at all about him during the Crimean war.
