Hi Ann,
Thanks for giving your time.
Very much appreciated.
Would it be too much to ask-- another favour?
I have a John Grout who married a Mary Boram in Manuden Essex in 1634 but first child i have recorded is a Thomas born 1642 and then a John in 1645.[am trying to find a Richard.]
I have reason to believe that there were earlier children or perhaps later but no trace can be found.
PS Interesting that Maria's surname was spelt Griffice.
Regards.
Michael. ;-)

Hi Ann,
As you can see i an keeping to my threads!
Further to my Isaac Brown enquiry,i believe that in those days[1790's] the person in question having moved into the area{Deal Kent] and setting up a business, would have to show that they had the means.
I think it was called a settlement agreement.
Presume there were records kept which would i have thought given the parish where they came from.
He married in Deal in 1798 and there are apprentice records[details i have] naming the employees.
Is it possible that you or anyone else could help as i still cannot trace where he came from.
Await comments.
Regards.
Michael.
