Find Ancestors

Can anyone help me find the parents of Robert Legge born abt 1816 in Shoreditch, he married Mary Ann, perhaps Mary Ann Nightingall.

If he married after July 1837, the cert will tell you his father's name and occupation

How did you get back to him?

Was one of his children your direct line?

It looks as though the marriage pre-dated the GRO

Gwyn I thought that - but can find censuses for Robert with Mary up to 1871 certainly and then from memory 1881 with Maria showing as his wife but I suspect it is his daughter!

Yes, Maria was his daughter, that's a mistake it was not his wife.

I don't know whether Robert father was Henry or George or someone else! Seems 'I've come up against my 'wall'. lol So the parents of Robert Legge born abt 1816 in Shoreditch were ? But father could be: George or Henry.
