You've mentioned applying to the GRO for a BC.

Do remember that many people didn't bother registering births prior to 1873. Although they were supposed to, that is when a fine was introduced. :-0

Hi Kay,
Yes this is him he's in Newport in 1891 as a lodger b. 1860 Teignmouth Devon with his wife Agnes b.1863 dtr Annie b. 1887. Dates are out and Northern accent Devon for Durham as provided by landlord. 1911 cen in 133, Dock Street Npt. t/.H. aged 44 from Sunburgh Yksh ( ? Guisborough ) with Agnes b. 1869 and 11 children.

Trawled through the Baptisms for Newcastle upon Tyne and turned up MARY ANN JEFFERSON, parents James & Jane , on 5.5.1861 All Saints Newcastle upon Tyne also shown as St Anne's Newcastle upon Tyne. No other children shown.

Marriage for James Jefferson and JANE ROBSON A/J 1859 Newcastle Upon Tyne couldnt find a Parish reg. entry.
Will investigate.......ever hopeful !
