Wow,

Thank you Chris and Dea,

That's brilliant didn't know abt those sites, on the last one that you gave Chris found Mary Ann's death in 1921 with right parents on so confirms the tree that Margee found.

I'm now going to read though the 53 pages of the record that Dea found.

Thank you sooooooooooo much you are stars :-D :-D :-D.

All the best

I know you said you were leaving this for now but I found this so I have posted it:

If you open this link

http://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/Interface/DetailsReports/ItemDetail.aspx?Barcode=3180917&isAv=N

Once there - click on 'View digital copy' about half way up the page, over to the right on the lower green bar - this will open up what looks to be 53 pages of his records (I have only looked at the first few but they contain lots of personal detail).

Really interesting.................

Dea x

ADDED: - He was discharged 26/10/17 and a couple of months earlier he gives his next of kin (previously brother John) as 'wife' Mrs. M.A Bywater, 11 Meddows St.., New Brighton, Liverpool.

Hi Jacqueline,

Sorry abt the name on my first post don't know why I put Mary and not Elsie.

As for the births I was looking at was to see if their was any other Lilian that could be the one on the ship records that you found and to show that my Lilian was the only one born 1894.

I think I'll put this to bed until after Christmas now and then come back to it with a fresh mind.

Thank you for all your help and Merry Christmas.

I'm not sure why you're speculating about births for Lilian

As is clearly shown in census records, she was Lilian ELSIE, as per my earlier post.

Your original message naming her as Lilian MARY was inaccurate

Hi Jacqueline,

Thank you so much for looking, I'll keep those facts in mind just in case.

I've checked freebmd for births for any Lilian Bywaters born in the 1890's and there is only a few:

Surname First name(s) District Vol Page
Births Mar 1892 (>99%)
Bywater Lilian Sheffield 9c 553 Scan available - click to view
Births Mar 1894 (>99%)
Bywater Lilian Elsie Basford 7b 216 Scan available - click to view
Births Dec 1895 (>99%)
Bywater Lilian Emily O Builth 11b 63 Scan available - click to view
Births Sep 1897 (>99%)
Bywater Lilian Maud Ashby Z. 7a 85 Scan available - click to view

So its possible the ship record you found could be them and Mary's age is down wrong

I can see no sign of Lilian in the UK after 1911, so am posting this as a suggestion.

Perhaps she decided to visit/join her father, in spite of his having abandoned his family

ADDED

Having checked the image, I see travelling on the same voyage, and listed just above Lilian is a Mrs M Bywater, aged 49, so probably not 'your' Lilian, as the age for Mrs M would be wrong for HER mother

hi Clare,

Thank you

Right could be, Enoch was born 1866 son of Edward Bywater and Emma Jowett so the Enoch you found could be right, I have just been gooling Enoch Bywater and found an Embarkation Roll of the 1st world war for Australia saying Enoch Bywater enrolling on 3 Feb 1915 aged is 44yrs out abt 5yrs born Beeston England says he was single and next of kin was John Bywater of Beeston so looks like he left his family and Mary Ann lied on the census.

Here's what I found:
Enoch BYWATER
enlisted on
3 February 1915
in the
4th Light Horse Field Ambulance,
Australian Imperial Force,
with the rank of
CPL Cook, Number 2599,
and was listed as
Returned to Australia
on
27 July 1917

hi Sorry abt that had to go off for a while.

Jacqueline we crossed post and you answered my question before mine post so now understand.

Margee,

I'm not sure that tree is right as on the 1911 census Mary Ann says she was a widow making that Enoch died sometime between July 1902 and 1911, but I'll see if I can find anything for the Australia deaths. It not the first time someone has a death in another country but have it wrong. I had found one once on the find the grave site with all the English line attached to the wrong woman that someone had put in.

Again Thank you both for all your help.

all the best

I can't find any prrof of deaths in Australia nor can I find any immigration record.

A tree says that Enoch died 21 Sep. 1940, Queensland, aged 74 and Mary Ann died 27 Nov. 1921, Brisbane, aged 57 but no documentation.

Hi All,

Thank you sooooooooooo much, that all ties in with what I have. I have the marriage of Mary Ann Burton and Enoch Bywater and the Freebmd details of marriage of Rosine Bywater in 1914 she married Arthur Herbert Checkett he died in 1917/18 as she then married Richard Bowen in 1919 she died in 1967 in Crewe.

Enoch Bywater son of Enoch and Mary Ann died in 1950 in Wallasey.

I cannot find a death for the Enoch born 1866 and wonder were he was in 1901.
