I have now had time to peruse the research which you have kindly done on my behalf.

Wow! There is a lot of information here. I will now be able to add to my family tree.

I can't recall my paternal grandparents ever talk about their respective parents and I am amazed by the number of Rietdyks still in Liverpool.

I can now see where some of the names of my father's brothers and sisters originated. Don't know how my mum and dad came up with Norman although my second name is Alexander which was my father's second name and is also my son's and grandson's.

As an aside, I recently submitted a saliva sample to a genetics company. This has resulted in a second cousin in Canada and hundreds of DNA cousins around the world, descendants of our great great great great etc granparents.
