Thankyou they ssid it can take 4 to 6 weeks to come through, I have no address of where he was living as we never had contact with him. I tried the oakley wood crem and burial office they hold all records of all big churches around the area but not small churches.

The next time you order a certificate, use the online GRO site. Not only is it normally cheaper at £9.25, but usually quicker c7-10 days!

Local reg officers fit issuing historical Certs around their primary function of registering current births, death, collating the returns for marriages and performing marriages and civil partnerships.

Yes had a break through today found out my grandfather was cremated and his ashes were spread at Oakley wood crematorium Leamington, I've ordered his death certificate from the gro site as well to see if there is an address of where he was living at the time, hopefully I will be able to fine some relatives if he had any living in the area but not sure how to do that. :)

I have just googled the house and it is a royal british Legion care home. Ive just give them a call and the lady I spoke to is going to see if she can find any information out, if I dont get any where here I think this will be the end of the road for me finding any more out.

I have received a call today from the nursing home where my grandfather lived, they spoke to the cook who was working there at the time, the only info she can remember about him was that he went by the name of Fred and also he went into hospital from there where he passed away, they have looked for more info but no luck as the old home was knocked down and a new home took its place so no records, so for me this really does look like the end of the road in finding any more out. :-(
