Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 10 May 2015 21:45

E could sound like C to someone a bit hard of hearing!! It does all seem to fit. It is surpriseing what can be found with a little more info.

BUT if the marriage was in 1915 then why was his mother EE Brigs down as next of kin? E E could be Elizabeth...........

alviegal Report 10 May 2015 21:53

EE is Elizabeth Emma Hart but we need to know what Walter jnr's occupation was. His father has also changed occupation.

alviegal it just seems funny we can't find a Walter Charles Briggs junior on any census.

alviegal

alviegal Report 10 May 2015 22:00

This appears to be the people who married in Rotherham. Married 11 years, 2 children born, both still living.

O your ahead of me again!!

Karen

Karen Report 12 May 2015 16:15

Walter jnr's occupation was Staff Serg RFA. on marriage certificate where it clearly states Walter Charles as father, unless of course he got it wrong.

I also have death cert of jnr 1940.

Andy, the 1912 looks interesting.

Does it actually say Earnest or is it a dodgy looking C or E? :-S

Karen

Karen Report 12 May 2015 16:18

Walter jnr was a Staff Serg in RFA on marriage cert., which also clearly states his father as Walter Charles.

I have the death certificate also.

Andy, the 1912 death looks intersting.

Does it actually say Ernest if is it a dodgy looking C or E on the census?

Andrew

Andrew Report 12 May 2015 16:46

Walter Ernest was in the Labour Corps according to his army record.

Thanks to everyone for all your tremendous efforts, its been so frustrating trying to put this together especially bearing in mind the various items that belonged to Walter Junior that I have in my possession, especially the military items which I hoped would have helped.

A friend of mine has put together a summary of his military life and yet where he was born still has to be a educated guess.

But thanks again to everyone, time to put this to bed. (until next time!) cos sometimes you just can't help yourself but have another try!
