Thanks ArgyllGran.

I have saved it in my records.

Having looked at 1841 again, I'm sure it's the right family.

Next door but one, there's Joseph Green, clerk, at the Rectory - age 30, not born in county.

In 1861, next door to the Kirks is Joseph Green, rector, at Parsonage House, age 54, born Holland.

Also, although Ancestry's transcription says they're in Owersby in 1841, the image says Owmby.

Just possibly the family in 1841 ???
The ages of John, Mary (mother), George, and Mary (daughter) would all fit.

Looking at the 1851 and 1861 census which say Hannah was from Broughton I am going with the marriage between John Kirk and Hannah clark

As for the death of Mary well ihaven't a clue which one is Williams wife.

Thanks again everyone

Jane.

I would expect William's birth to be one of these two as Lincoln RD covers OWMBY. As he is 3 and 13 on the census, more likely to be the 1847 one

Surname First name(s) District Vol Page
Births Sep 1847 (>99%)
Kirk William Lincoln 14 445

Births Jun 1849 (>99%)
Kirk William Lincoln 14 492

Thanks greyghost and ArgyllGran for helping me.

If the 1851 census is my family then it has john married to Mary not Hannah!!. William's age would be correct though.

If I go by the marriage to Hannah in 1855 it means that this was johns second marriage (Because of the age of William) so I gues he married Mary first.

Thanks again

That's strange I have just being looking at the baptisms for Luddington on Lincstothepast site and I couldn't find Johns baptism. I guess there must have been more than one church there.

Thanks for your help.

Am not seeing the "family" in 1851 - In the above 1861 census Hannah, although not impossible, looks a bit old to have a 13 year old son. There is this marriage in the Lincoln RD in 1855
