Interesting! Thanks MarieCeleste!

I wonder if the truck in the photo is the same one as mentioned in this article from 22 October 1938 - Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer?

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/19862010

The 1911 census does name a son as Leonard.

Have a look at this house that was for sale. I don't know whether I am just imagining it but I think it could be the same building that the truck is parked in front of in your photo (though obviously done up now):-

I've asked my son to have a look at the photo and he thinks it may say North Woods Game Farm.

That's great! Sorry about the incorrect location for Dacre. Harrogate sounds right! I think that must have been a holiday location and good friends but probably not members of my family. Perhaps the Sharman family will be interested in the photos. Many thanks Rose and Kate!

There's an old thread on here that mentions the above family

I think the farm name might be Cave Farm.

Well done Rose. Now you've posted that I can see that the side of the truck definitely looks as if it says North Woods above a farm name.

There's an entry in Kelly's directory for 1927 Richard Sharman, North Woods, Dacre Harrogate ?

I'm sorry I can't read all the wording but some of it says 'Farm' and Dacre is the name of a place in the south of England where I think my father went camping.
I can't read the cap-band either.

Most of my family's relatives were from Leeds in Yorkshire but I don't know if any of these were from a different area.

Thanks for your interest.

What does the wording on the side of the truck says?

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/19837426
Can you read the vessel’s name on the cap-band?

Where did your extended family live as that might be a clue?
