Hi Chris Ho
I am the person who was looking for the info on the Hook family. And now thanks to you all I have found the answers in the Hook Lumbard links.
In your last post you stated "(missing from above, checked FMP, John Hook, they also have image, Father of John, William hook (Deceased) occ. Bailiff)"
Can you please tell me where to find the photo/image of William Hook as I've
looked on Find my Past and can't find anything?

Oooooooooooooooh!

Thank you all so much. This now gives food for thought!

Erasing the past does seem feasible hence the change of resident country.

I shall investigate tonight.

I really appreciate the help. Please add anything further and I'll check back later.

You are all marvellous :-D

William Lumbard , Farmer, Hawkchurch, was bankrupt 1866.

Article in Dorset County Chronicle - Thursday 22 February 1866

Perhaps the move and name change was to avoid people chasing him money?
