Hi
I know this is a long shot but fingers crossed.
James Joyce was born in Godalming Surrey in 1790.He was buried in Twickenham Middlesex 15/03/1851.James's four children were all born in Twickenham so I presume that he was still living in Twickenham in 1841.I have searched for him many times on the 1841 census but I have been unable to find him. Please can anyone help find him.
Regards
Wendy

I did think that the marriage to Caroline Tyler in Godalming 5/07/1833 could have been his second one even though record says he was a bachelor.I can't find either James or Caroline in 1841
James married his first wife Sarah Stuckey in 1808 in Kingston SSurrey and Sarah died in1823.

Am I missing something? Are you just assuming that the James that died in 1851 is the correct man? If the Sarah that died in 1823 is correct then she was born c1781.

Do you have his age from something else?

Have you followed their other children?

Hi Again
Firstly James's occupation was Labourer,
I have James 's birth c1790 in Surrey,he married Sarah Stuckey in Kingston Surrey. As his children were all born in Twickenham I thought it possible that he was buried there in Twickenham.
The children you show (Austin) are my relatives.James Joice/Joyce 1809 was my 3 x great grandfather.

Hi Chris Ho
I had a look at the 1841 census. This is I think the James I am searching for.In the household is Richard Anstead. Several of Sarah's nieces and nephews had Anstead as a middle name.

AustinQ Report 16 Oct 2016 16:38

I don't think the 1841 census is correct, adjusting the contrast on the image it looks like James' surname possibly starts with an 'M' and ends in 'der'.

Think he is one of those so faded out on pages, that you wouldn't be able to tell, above was just added as an example...

(sends eyeballs goggled, lol)
