Hi Pauline,

Ann/Annie Keen born JAS 1842 Manchester (mothers name Smith) was the daughter of William Mossop Keen and Harriet Smith. Harriet Smith was originally married to William Senior and they had two children named Harriet and William (cannot find them). I believe Ann/Annie married a Franklin and hence the name of her daughter Emily Edith Franklin born AMJ 1872 Manchester (mothers name Keen). The FindMyPast Manchester Cemetery Records show a William Mossop Keen as grave owner of grave 2365 at Cheetham Hill Wesleyan Cemetery. Ann/Annie had an elder brother John, and a younger brother William who died 1845 (of Teething??) and buried in the above grave. So assuming a Wesleyan connection, maybe Ann/Annie married in a Wesleyan Church and that's maybe why we can find no record...

Best wishes,
Paul.

Thanks Paul
I was just trying to find out about Ralph Mosoph, as he appears to have no birth. There is some mystery about him, which the family tried to find, but sadly not found.

Hi Pauline,
I've done some previous research on this family and others as I'm distantly related to the Parks. Just checking my notes, I found this info:

1894 FreeBMD M Search: AMJ 1894 Salford 8d 167 an Emily Edith Franklin M John Watson at Salford Register Office or Registrar Attended (Confirmed on Lancs BMD).

Her son William Mosoph was baptized in 1895 as William Watson (Lancs OPC):
1895 Baptism: 16 Oct 1895 Christ Church, Salford, Lancashire, England
William Watson - [Child] of John Watson & Emily Edith
Born: 9 Dec 1889
Abode: 10 Bernsley [Bemsley] St.
Occupation: Labourer
Baptised by: Fred. Knight
Register: Baptisms 1892 - 1898, Page 161, Entry 1286.

I've not yet found how she became a Franklin...

Richard Parks/Park was married in 1860 to Alice Dillicate 1836-1873 and then married? Annie Unknown (marriage not found). Annie died in 1919 and Richard in 1907. So maybe Annie was Annie Franklin? Emily Watson died in 1908.

I have a lot of info on the Delicate/Dillicate family.

I'll take another look into this early next week and see what I find.

Best wishes,
Paul.

Thank you Chris for the reminder. Had lost track of the previous findings!!

I've had a look at all the Ann/ie Keen marriages I can find in Lancashire 1861-1881 and Richard Park/e/s marriages 1873 -1900. and nothing fits at all. Where the name Mosoph comes from I have no idea - maybe foreign.

All I can suggest at he moment is to purchase the birth cert for John Edward Mosoph posted above and see what info that contains.

Andrew can you find Annie/ int he 1861 census.? I found the 91 census, in which Annie has married Richard Park I am trying to find Annie before her marriage to Mosoph, as she is married? in the 71 you found. What is her occupation in 1871 please? This is a very mysterious family, considering the unusual name!
Thanks
