Hi Pen, It's Mike back from holiday and renewing the search for Browns. I have Thomas Brown born 1860 Lambeth (?Clement St Danes), father Joseph Brown. Can you please check 1861 census for Thomas' family details, and if you have time to track them back through the 1851 and 1841 censuses, I'll be very grateful. Kind regards Mike

Hi Pen - Mike again, Thanks for your latest contribution, it looks promising when compared with 1901 info, especially the Strand birthplace for Thomas Brown. I'll spend a while looking at what I have so far, and then probably get back to you to ask for more!!! thanks again Mike ************************************************************************** Hi again Pen, There does seem to be a continuity through the 1861, 1871 and 1901 censuses, apart from the date of birth of Sarah, Joseph's wife between 1861 and 1871, but errors of this type are not unusual, are they? Perhaps the doubt you raised about Joseph's birth in Somerset is explained by the presence of a visitor (?older brother) from Long Sutton - family migration to find work, perhaps? Any way, I'll be very grateful if you will trace the family back through 1851 and 1841, please. Thanks a bundle, Mike

Hiya I was wondering if you could try and find any record of a Thomas Glover, born possibly around 1885. He married a Louisa Essex dob unknown. They had a child called Florence Glover dob 2th May 1905 possibly in Leicester. I have had trouble finding any other record of either Thomas Glover or Louisa Essex and would appreciate any information you could find! Thankyou for your time Jodie

Hi Pen, I don't have the excuse of hot weather today so I shall just have to own up to the addiction! Another of my longshot ideas involves a William Strickland born in the Mar Qtr 1841 in the moors just north of Pickering, Yorks. In IGI he is shown with a mother Martha Strickland so no acknowledged father. Please could you see if they are in the 1841 and if there is some handsome farm hand standing nearby looking sheepish?? Many thanks, David

Hi again Pen, re my search for Browns, there does seem to be a continuity through the info you have given me from the 1861, 1871 and 1901 censuses, apart from a bit of a discrepancy between 1861 and 1871 over Sarah's dob. I think the doubt you raised about Joseph's birth in Somerset on the 1861 may be explained by the presence of a visitor (?older brother) from the same place - perhaps a family migration looking for work? Anyway, I'll be very grateful for anything you can find in 1851 and 1841, please. Thanks a bundle, Mike
