So you need to know his age to identify the right man

Well she married as price to Frederick L Purnell in 1971 Swansea

So if Ernest died in. 1970 Swansea this would tie with her marrying the following year

Maybe there was a divorce as not seeing a death for Frederick that would tie in
Then peter Jenkins in 1983. Swansea

It's difficult to follow up on Jenkins names in Wales !

When was Doreen born. Maybe you can find her death with a birth date

First and foremost, please come and stay with me and we can kick the ass out of this project.
I have read through all the information and updated my tree accordingly. To answer a few of your queries :
1) Ernest Mervyn Price born 20.04.1920 dies 1970 Swansea is the right man as he died around my mums 18th birthday. (oh dear :( ).
2) I have given up on finding death for Frederick Purnell as I know nothing about him , no kids involved, apparently not a nice man.
3) My maternal Grandmother Doreen Mitchell. born 1921, dies 1989 Swansea.

So what I am looking for now is parents of both Ernest M Price & Doreen Mitchell. And when can you move in ? How long have you been doing this ? what other sites do you use ?

Been researching now for 15 years so have a few ideas on how to look
I use a variety of websites but have subs to Ancestry and Find my Past


So having identified it's the Ernest who died in 1970 ,I did posts his birth ref

It's the June 1920 one with mmn maddock

Based on the fact he was reg Newport M this looks like his parents

He has one brother

For info on Frederick l Purnell you need the 1971 marriage cert for his age and father's name

There are several Frederick l Purnell ,s so you need more info on him to find the right man

It would help too from the cert to know what his second name is

I'm trying to find out where she was in 1939 can anybody help me ?

She isn't listed on the 1939 register maybe hers is a closed record because her marriages and death haven't been identified

Her marriage records and death records only have her as Doreen not Doreen D

There are loads of birth records for Doreen Mitchell so as previously posted one of her marriage certs should name her father .if known

I have ordered 3 certs this morning,
maternal grandmother (death) Doreen Mitchell, purnell, price, Jenkins....im not sure what information this will contain as I still cant not find out where she was born. here's hoping.
maternal grand father birth, Ernest Mervyn price
& Paternal grand father birth, William George Pickering.

Having them sent to a relative in the UK and flying out today so can collect them so no waiting for the uk to aussie postal system.

I'm really hoping this spurs me on to take this further. Oh I hope they are the right people.

One of the marriage certs will be the best help as it will give her dads name then her parents may be identified to then find her mothers maiden name . The mmn will show in the birth GRO ref so you get th right birth

I'm having a mad one this morning, I have obtained a fantastic clutch of family photos, have uploaded them to my pc, saved a few of them to my saved folder here and can not what ever I try attached them to any of my relatives. what the heck am I doing wrong ?

You have to be aware that there are two tabs open when you are dealing with your tree. When it says Upload you need to switch to the other tab to see the options.

I'm jumping ship. Ive had way too many problems technically with this site. uploading, attaching, saving has all been way too over complicated. Ive had way more success on Ancestry and will today start migrating over.

Search help from the Help desk does not exist.

Ive never had a Hot match (they don't exist at the moment).

What I will say is a huge thank you to the kind, generous folks on this board who have gone over and above to help, support and assist my search.

I only hope the support "over there" is as good. Will I be eating my words ?
