If you want to message me I have these people in my tree. Only just rejoined the site so it seems like fate I've just seen this post. Gypsy births often weren't registered by the way, John.

I haven't read all the thread so I wont say I have, but they were Romany gypsies and my cousins and I have Mears and Deacons in our trees...flower shops in the south of England but travelled widely. Intermarried with Bacons and Roberts too.

Unless she miss understood the instructions, she'd have witnessed her son's marriage as a Bacon not a Mears. So that one can be ruled out.
