Could this be Amos's marriage (no middle name given):-

Name: Amos Nunn
Year of Registration: 1905
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
District: Wakefield
County: Yorkshire - West Riding, West Yorkshire
Volume: 9c
Page: 86

Also on the page is Elizabeth Williams Hanson (extra name given).

If this could be the marriage then the certificate would hopefully give you Elizabeth's father's name and occupation.

Gatelady,

You have bumped this thread up again after more than 9 years - does that mean you would like some more info on this family - if so, could you let us know what more you are hoping to find out and what you already have please?

I know that Austin has beat me to it yet again and has posted the 1939 but I will post this because it shows exactly where the closed records come within the family and exactly how many there are:

Nunn Household (3 People) 104 Clifford Street , Hemsworth R.D., Yorkshire (West Riding), England

First name(s) Last name(s) DOB Occupation
Amos A Nunn 18 Dec 1885 Colliery Surface Worker - widowed
Douglas Nunn 17 Mar 1919 Colliery Surface Worker
3 more people who are officially closed
Doris Pinkney 06 Apr 1906 Unpaid Domestic Duties
1 more person who is officially closed - this one is a child of school age and I 'think' the surname was Pinkney.

Thanks Dea- I'll delete my 1939 register as your makes more sense!

I see that Gatelady has a tree on Ancestry- no more information has been added re Doris.

Gatelady you have Doris death as 1988, but based on the date of birth from the 1939 register, her death was in 1991:

Name: Doris Pinkney
Birth Date: 6 Apr 1906
Date of Registration: Sep 1991
Age at Death: 85
Registration district: Pontefract
Inferred County: Yorkshire
Volume: 5

Despite the passenger list of them returning to the UK in 1907 I don't see them together on the 1911 England census.

I did wonder if this was Doris and her sister coming to England from New York- they appear to travelling on their own:

Port of Departure: New York, New York, United States
Arrival Date: 21 Mar 1919
Port of Arrival: Liverpool, England
Ship Name: Melita
Shipping line: White Star Dominion Line
Official Number: 137398

Miss Doris Brown 12 Child
