Dear Francis . I Have just put a thread on elsewhere and while idly searching came upon you VERY KIND OFFER. I hope you can help..... Lt John Putland was supposed to have been promoted by Admiral Lord Nelson after the battle of the NILE. He Went on to Marry Mary Bligh the daughter of Captain William Bligh of the Bounty and served under him until he Died in Sydney Australia in 1808. My Problem is I have not yet been able to find anything about his Birth ..date...place.... parent's ...sibling's etc Any Information would be welcome, even his enlistment in the Navy is a mystery to me, Thank you in anticipation.

Don't worry about duplication. I was the one who posted these results on you other thread. After I posted here I did a search to see if there were any other threads.

Hi Francis, thank you for you kind offer of help. This one is abit strange. On my gt grandmother's marriage certificate dated 15.5.1879 her name is Elizabeth Mary Ann McCannah - father William McCannah shoemaker. Her address is given as Queens Road (no number) and the Parish Church in the Parish of Portsea. On my grandmother's birth certificate Elizabeth gave her maiden name as Golston.

I am unable to find her on any census's prior to her marriage, her birth certificate nor anything to do with her father. On the 1901 census it says that she was born in Southampton.

I know that sometime after her marriage she following her husband James Buckner out to Southern Ireland where some of her children where born.

Anything you can find on her I would be grateful.

Happy New Year to you

Kind regards

Jill

Hi I wonder if you can help I am looking for the Burial of a Helena Elizabeth Hanson - she died 26 APR 1864 in Portsea Island, Hampshire, I have her death certificate. I am unable to find her birth and am beginning to wonder if she was Baptised in the Catholic faith. If this is the case where would she be buried?

I am beginning to wonder if this branch is Catholic as no matter how hard I look I can't find any evidence of birth she was born pre 1837 so I have looked a Baptisms. But on one of her children's military records he states that he is Catholic but this might be a false trail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sonya, this is your Joseph in 1841. He is a Clerk of Union? I can't find anything more on him but as others have said on this thread, Francis has not returned to this thread so you would all be better off starting your own threads and letting the contributers on GR attempt to help you. :-)

Dear Francis...I have a marriage of Joseph Exall and Mary Sanders at St Marys Portsea on 14th July 1800. They were listed as of this parish. I have followed their lives from 1814 when they went to Tenterden in Kent but nothing before that.(Poss. to Limehouse in London earlier)#The records do not give me any parents or occupations for either of them. Is there any chance you might find something in Portsea? Thank you sonya

Sonya - Francis deleted their account and will never see your message.

This is what you get if you were to try and send them a message
"It is not possible to send a message to this member. Their account may be deleted."

Have you looked at the posts preceeding yours? Chris Ho and ArgyllGran have added some suggestions which may be relevant. They've also highlighted other threads you've created in case there is anything connected on those
