Jayne

Margee was not being rude ...........

........ most of us do tell people who post two or more threads on the same person that it is actually against the T&C's of GR ............... and the problem is that it wastes time

and we do it out in the open on the thread, with an explanation of why it is a poor thing to do.

IF Margee had sent you a pm (private message), then someone else would have been bound to say it on the thread ......................

Thank you, Sylvia. I was rather upset by Jayne's comments. I don't think I have ever been accused of being rude before.

Ty Sylvia for your reply

I full understand all this now but I haven't made anyone look foolish .. Like I said I would have appreciated it better it I was pointed in the right direction instead of being told I have made everyone look foolish ...It doesn't inspire me with confidence to ask any further questions ..

But thank you Sylvia to take the time to explain this to me .. I wlll bear this in mind in the future and I will check everything I put up .

Margee
It came across as being rude .. I am sorry if you got upset over but I got upset thinking I had committed a major crime instead of asking a question about a birth certificate..I WASNT aware that I had to put it all on the same thread . So apologies for that .

Hi Jayne

Looking at your question re Archie Grayling - although it is 2 years old are you still looking for info ?

He was my uncle, lived in Eastbourne and he had a sister, Irene ( my mother ) and a brother Herbert who lived in London

Does this help

Welcome to genesreunited, Les.

Unfortunately Jayne is no longer a member (if you click on her name you will see that no email contact is possible) so it is unlikely that she will see your posting.

To satisfy my curiosity - what was Hannah's surname?

Hannah Jane Parratt was born in Brighton in August 1884 and died in Eastbourne in Feb 1970.

She was married to Herbert Ebenezer Grayling ( I believe this was his second marriage ) who died in 1942 before I was born.

Hannah had 3 children - Archie, Bert and Irene.

If you look at the 1901 census, Hannah ( aged 16 ) was working below stairs in Montpelier Road, Brighton
