you can delete the new thread now Ed and carry on with this one

Trying to trace Ann has been an exercise in futility. She was born 1802 in Leven East Yorkshire. In 1851 she is living with her mother Ann in Hull. The mother dies 1852 Hull and Ann reports the death. Then she disappears. She does not show up in 1861/71 census. She is not the Ann Pickering who died 1855 Sculcoates, 1858 Sculcoates, 1863 Hull, 1866 Driffield or 1870 Sculcoates. There are a few marriages which I also attempted to check via 1861/71 census but those that I could find were not her.

Suggestions what to try next?

Not sure why you want to combine a search for Ann circa 1861 East Yorkshire with 1911 census search for Thomas Henry in North Yorkshire. Ann very likely dead before Thomas Henry was born. The two only very distantly related.

Ann was a spinster in 1851 so if she married she would not be a Pickering in 1861.
