Are you able to tell me when and where his brother Benjamin Thomas ended up in America, as Martin may have gone to visit etc...

10 May 1879 - Cornishman - Penzance, Cornwall, England

ST. JUST
The Sad News of the death by violence of Mr. Benjamin Thomas, native of this parish, and son of the late Benjamin Thomas, of Tregeseal, has lately been sent home from America (where it appears Thomas has been shot) to his sorrowing friends. According to report the circumstances attending his death are most sad. He leaves a wife and three children (to whom he has sent no help for some time) as well as an aged mother, to mourn his loss.

Chris thanks so much for the advert on Hannah at least I know where she was for this period.....the marriage certificate for Hannah Wake and Richard Huckle 1854, Melbourne....says he was born in London, 34 years, plasterer, parents Richard Huckle and Susan Llyod (maiden name) his father is a coal merchant.... which makes Richard born around 1820 if the cerificate is to be believed.
