I think I have hit a brick wall, I have been trying to complete some recognition of my family tree for over a year now and am totally stuck. On my mothers side I cant get past her self as we where not sure of her name and on my fathers side I can not find my great grandfathers first wife and children who where apparently sent to America in her death. I have never had a HOT FIND (or update from the service). I am totally lacking in detail for the families I really want to rekindle the interest in this whilst I am able. Can somebody help me ?
It is made more difficult as I am currently posted to Australia and requesting copies of docs can take MONTHS or never arrive. Ali :-\

I have my mums name but not her mothers details who was married a number of times.

Your mother's birth certificate should show her mother's maiden name regardless of how many times she married.

If you give a few details, members will help look for records of your grandmother.

who did you order the birth certificate from?

GRO (General Register Office) is the site we usually recommend, if you are not going to use the local Register Office. GRO is the site I recommend all overseas poeple to uses as they do not charge any extra for overseas postage :-)

GRO charges £9.25 including postage all over the world ...............

it should NOT take 2 months to arrive, even in Australia. Two weeks is the longest that any certificate from GRO has taken to arrive at my door on the west coast of Canada.

It would probably be worthwhile following up on your order!

Yep GRO, I have chased the order but am still waiting. I'm sure it will arrive in the next couple of weeks.

Married 1933 Warwickshire to Mary Ellen Kent.

His father's name should be on the marriage cert ,if known

According to George Pickering's Army Service record he married Rose Hannah Haines on 21 Nov 1908 at a Registry Office in Birmingham. There was one child born to the marriage George William Pickering born 30 Nov 1908.

I now have the correct birth certificate for my mother, YAY finally. I believe her mother :
Doreen Price nee : Mitchell .
Who was married to Ernest Mervyn Price at time of mums birth (03.05.1952 Finchley)
living at 106 station road, N11 at the time.
This I think was her first husband, family legend says she married 4 or 5 times I can only find 3. Can anybody else confirm that ?
Ernest M Price, then, Fred Purnell (no idea of dob or death) then Peter Jenkins (no idea on dob or death), are there any more?
Nor can I find anything for Ernest M Prices's Parents.
