Hi, My Mother's maiden name is Lewsey. She was born in the Leytonstone area in 1946 to Hilda Maud Lewsey who would have been born c 1910/11. Hilda was my Grandmother but died in 1971/2 when I was 5. She lived in Barkingside at the time.She left seven daughters and tens of grandchildren and great grandchildren. My Grandad was called Alfred but died in the early 1950s. They also had a son Ken who died at the end of the war in France during an ambush. I am trying to piece together my family tree and have yet to follow my maternal line. i would be interested in any information with regards to ancestors and where the name Lewsey originates. Thanks.
