I'm seeking information on William Adam. He was baptized 26 May 1806 in Campsie, Stirling (or Stirlingshire), Scotland. He was one of 10 children born to James Adam and Mary Morrison (her name could be spelled with one r).who were married on 9/9/1792 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire. I believe William married Joan Rutherford. William and Joan Adam were listed in the 1841 Census Neilston Parish, Holehouse. William Adam was the brother of my great, great grandfather, John Adam born 29 Nov 1809, who came to America with his wife, Mary Anne Simpson in 1834. I know that several of John Adams' brothers came to America and settled in Virginia, North Carolina and Alabama. I'm trying to find out if William immigrated or stayed in Scotland. Any information will be appreciated. I am happy to share any information that I have that could help you. MaryEllen Keathley |
