Thomas Alderton I am searching information on any family members of Archibald Alderton and Edith Footitt both born in sheffield and married in 1924. They had 2 daughters, Betty and Muriel who married an Airline Pilot and lived at Slepe in Dorset. Archibald spent most of his life in the army and died in 1972. Archibald daughter Betty E born in 1926 at Colchester ,possibly emigrated to Australia.Muriel born in1933 at Richmond Yorkshire served in the R.A.F in the 1950,s .Both had children, but i can not find any records of their marriages. If you married in a military church, where would the records be. Hi Lozzie,Edith Footitt was born at 153 Dunlop St. Attercliffe, Sheffield in1904.She was part of alarge family. Her mother was Ellen born 1864 in Worsall Cleveland Yorkshire. Her father was Joseph Footitt from Newark and born in 1864 who worked as a coal miner.I believe Edith went to live with her daughter Betty in Australia after Archibald died but i have not being able to confirm this.
