My great grandmother was Elizabeth Ann Bailey born in Stocklinch Somerset. In 1881 she lived in IltonSomerset with her husband Benjamin Williams , they married in 1871 in Chard Somerset, had a son Alfred Daughter Harriet another son James (my grandfather) and a daughter Ada. By 1901 they had moved to Cardiff, where James met and married my grandmother Edith Mary Howe also originally from Shapwick Somerset. I found her in the 1901 census working in Cardiff as a servant. James died in 1919 and Edith Mary one year previous when my father their son Benjamin was only 8 years old. Elizabeth had a brother James. I believe Benj. and Eliz. son Alfred lived in the Porth area of Wales. I hope this is of some use to someone. |
