I'm stuck with just one strand of the family: my gg grandmother. |

You need to start with her marriage certificate, which will state her father's name -- if she knew it, and if she reported it correctly. |

Thanks all. That's good work, and correct about the marriage to Joseph, but I've kind of already been down that path and it turns out to be no real help unfortunately. |

Just a tip - it would have been nice to know those various tidbits from the outset. The marriage certificate details, of course. And also the 1901 census possibility, since match looks quite good and it would have been useful for pondering/searching for Maud's whereabouts. |

So for info, this is the potential household in 1891? |

Thanks Janey. That's the household that looks sort of likely, very likely even, and yet could be completely wrong. If only the earlier Maud hadn't vanished. I'm sorry I didn't tell you enough to start with. There is another lone Maud in 1901 in a workhouse, but I can't think of any reason why she would be there if her family are alive. |

Could I just ask when Maud died. |

Maud Woodhead (previously Davis, nee Baker) died in 1970 in Keighley. Don't know the exact date but it doesn't really matter at this stage I don't think. |

The age is out but I think this is that Maud. |

I think it's the year of birth on the death cert that is out -- not an uncommon occurrence for people born pre 1900. |

There was a reason I asked, I found this and it is only a submitted record and may be a possibility. |

As she died after 1969, her place of birth should be recorded on her death certificate, ....if known by the informant, of course. |

This seems to be my 1901 Yorkshire Bakers (whom I am quite fond of) in 1891 |

Again this is a submitted record and concerns the parents of the Maud I found but I still haven't found Sarah yet. |
