Member Since: June 2003 Posts: 1 Send Message	hi, my name is jon bell, i originate from co.durham. i am trying to trace my granfathers side of the family,his surname is pyle, originally it was pile. however his grandfather was an illigitemate child spawned by the son of general beckworth,who still has land in trimdon,co.durham, and his grandmother. all i know is that they were paid £1000 to keep it quiet and for the child to be raised as a pile.£1000 was quite an excellent amount of money in the mid 1800s but its no good to us but i would like to know if anybody has more information on this,thanks jon bell
