My 5x Grandparents were Israel and Elizabeth Belton who lived on Foulness Island, Essex. My Cousins and I are attempting to trace from where Israel and his Brother David originated. They appeared on Foulness in the mid 1700's, and were obviously experienced in Sheep Farming, as they quickly got themselves established on Sheep Farms. Later, they and their Families bought a Farm for Sheep Rearing, and Marketing, and appeared to be very successful, as they gradually expanded their Hildings to several Farms. Can anybody expand on that information? If so please advise. John Faiers. |
