Hi RE. BIDDISCOMBE/WARREN This an additional appeal for any Biddiscombe who have not got in touch to do so please! The family tree is large and growing thanks to help already received from Peggy and Denise but if you have any info it would be appreciated from where you are UK or abroad. Same applies for Warren my mothers maiden name and one relative has already been in touch from Oz BUT THERE MUST BE MORE OUT THERE SO COME ON! My mothers parents were Ron and Rose from the London area or should I say Greenwich but would appreciate more so please get in touch and who knows may have to get a bigger place too accommodate all the names. For those who have helped a thank you and if we are not connected then good luck in your own search. What I would say is do not give up! thanks again Andy

Hi
Re Biddiscombe

Just browsing the message board when I came across you and decided to pass on my Biddiscombes

My grandmother was Martha Maud Biddiscombe, born 1892 in Ferndale, Rhondda, South Wales. Her father was Peter Biddiscombe ,born 1957, Donhead St Boy, Wilts.Peter and his wife, also Martha had 5 sons and 4 daughters, William (Peter's stepson), Fred, John Charles,Walter,Peter,Beatrice,Sarah, Rose and my grandmother.

Peter's brother married Martha's sister, their children were Eliza Jane,Beatrice,Lillian and Albert. Albert moved from Wales to Brixton - he was a mine of information on the Biddiscombe's especially those in the West Country - working in London during the late 70's I got to know Albert quite well until his death ,well into his 90's.

At one time or another I did get to meet some of my great uncles and Sarah and Beatrice were frequent visiters,my grandparents having moved to Kent with the opening of the coal fields, settling in Ramsgate.

My parents spent their honeymoon visiting various Biddiscombe's in Dorset in 1950

I have just begun researching into my family tree at present - my father has often spoken about some of my grandmother's relatives who emigrated to America probably early parent of the20th century, he remembers them visiting Wales back in the 20's but couldn't remember their names.

Can't wait to research into his family - Davies!

All the best , Sharon
