The earliest BLAKEY I have come across are in and around St Bartholomews church, Colne, Lancs eg. Sir Robert Blakey incumbant 1535 Roger Blakey incumbant 1560-92 and on a gravestone in the churchyard, John Blakey August 24, 1657. There is also an Elizabthan house nearby called Blakey Hall. There is a coat of arms on a wall in Colne public library labelled Blakey.
