i am trying to find a connection with Captain Bligh of HMS Bounty, i have been told he was one of a great grandfather.

Just going through the boards and it has been a long time since you posted the message I am replying to. Don't know if you are still looking for a connection with William Bligh, but if you are still searching maybe I can help you. William was my gt gt gt gt grandfather.
