Hello Brennan seekers! I am looking for the family of Johanna Brennan, born near Sixmilebridge, in Co Clare, Ireland circa 1856. Her mother was Mary Kennedy from Scotland and her father was Edmund Brennan from Co Clare but I don't think originally from Clare, I think he came from Co Cork. The story goes that Mary & Edmund met on a ship either going to or coming from Scotland/Ireland. Edmund was going to be a priest but then he met Mary and fell in love with her. Mary's father, back in Scotland was against the marriage but allowed it on the condition that when she died her body would be brought back to Scotland and buried in the family castle there. Which is what occurred. Not sure exactly as to where in Scotland I'm afraid! If anyone knows of this Edmund Brennan from Cork or Clare please get in touch! |
