Trying to find Brittain

I am researching a family of Brittains who started in Eston, Middlesborough in the early 1800s. My line moved to Hartlepool where my grandfather William Brittain was born in 1901. He spent 25 years in the RAF. His mother was a widow Caroline Rowbotham born Caroline Williams. His father William Brittain worked at the gas works.
