I am a desperate Brown hunter. My Brown line lived in various areas of London. In 1881 they were living at Farndon Row camberwell where my g grandfather Benjamin was born he was the 6th of 8 children, Joesph, Jane, George, John,Ben, Charles and Thomas. Their father was William b about 1847 somewhere in London who was a silversand hawker and mother Susan (hannah) nee Basset who was b 1847 in Newington In 1871 they were in Newington with their 1st children Joseph and Jane, in 1881 they were in Farndon Row Camberwell and had further children Elizabeth George and John. In 1891 they were in Elsted Street, St Mary Newington and had 3 more children, Ben, Charles and Thomas. By 1901 they are living in Hollington St, Camberwell and have 2 more children Susan and Joseph (although I think Joseph may be a grandchild) Benjamin married Elzabeth garner and moved to Reading. I do not know anything more than this. Does any of this ring any bells with you. I would appreciate ANY help Thanks Teresa |
