Benjamin Batchelor Buckman I'm trying to find the parents of Benjamin Batchelor Buckman b. 1819. His son John b.1843 was Mayor of Lewes. The Buckmans moved from Billingshurst to Lewes, Sussex in the late 1700's.

Hi Sue
It has been a long time since posting your 'trying to find' and if you have this information please disregard it.
BB Buckman was baptised to Elizabeth Buckman (b12/2/1800) in All Saints Church Lewes on 13/10/1822. He could be a base child to Elizabeth as she is only noted as parent. Her parents were Edward Buckman/Elizabeth Trussler (Truster) mar in 1797 St Michael Lewes. Another child to this couple Heziah (Keziah) (Kitty) b 6/9/1798 d 30/1/1830. There is a family of Buckman's which may include Edward as it shows on his marriage. His parents were John Buckman/Mary Crozier. The children to this couple were mostly born in Plumpton by Lewes. The IGI website will have the details.
This is only a possible result as I have only done a search for Ben in the first instance.
Unfortunately this is not (so far) any relation to our familiy Buckman in Bath, Somerset but I feel it was not their original place of birth.
