ROBERT THOMAS CARLIN I am trying to trace my Great Grandfather's Family. Robert was born in 1875 South Shields and married a Frances Stephenson (nee Blank) in 1907. Robert had two brothers William 1873, and Albert 1880/81. Can anyone help! Tracey

Hi Tracey,

I also had Carlin's from South Shields - my grandmother, Catherine was born in 1918. Her dad was a Carlin - don't know which one - her mother was a Bainbridge.

My cousins still live in the area and tell me that Carlin is a common enough name up there.

If you have any info on your gggfather and his family, I would appreciate it..
