Cloakes seem to have originated in Kent; I was aware of an enclave in Yorkshire - started by your father? Have you been in touch with Dan Cloake of Eastbourne (he has started a "Cloake" group on Facebook)? From his family tree details, I think you might be more closely connected with him than me; his tree & mine seem to have separated pre-about 1700, but were all in Kent for a long time after that.
