Does anyone knpw of Jane/Jean Cowie nee Arnold nee Watson, DOB 17.6'1859. Her first husband George Arnold died young ( I think an accident at work). He was in the army.As far as I know they had three children--- Daniel (my Grandfather)DOB 10.7. 1887 and Edith DOB 30.10.1885. The other son was Frederick and I don't know anything much about him.After her husband died she used the compensation she received to train as a nurse. She left her children in the care of her sister and went to South Africa to work for a diamond merchant.When she returned she married a man named Cowie and they had a daughter May. I don't know anything about them. I have a feeling she lived and worked in Buckie for a while. I'd love to find out more. |
