Trying to find Critchley

I believe my tree comes from the Critchley line who owned Batley Colliery & lived in Batley Hall in Yorkshire. Struggling to work out whether I have a brother or son (William) of Walter Critchley. It is likely he was 'disowned' by the family and sent to Australia, leaving a wife (Edith Ellen Grace?) and son, Frank William (my great-grandfather) in Kent (probably Margate or Broadstairs).

Hi Lisa,

My great grandfather Albert Newman married Ellen Critchley, her father was Henry Critchley and her mother Mary Pengilly. Both Ellen and Henry Critchley came from South Australia, but I have no backward history to them. Ellen was born in 1865 and we believe Henry was born before 1850. Is there a chance they match into your history at all ?

Regards

Terry
