Can any lovely person help me. looking for info on james cross who married a Dora moat b1899-1984. Have come to a dead end trying to find anything on him,siblings,parents etc....... I know he had 3 children who are all living and still in the cambridgeshire area and cant find anything on him themselves, I would be grateful is someone could give me a kick start.... .

I did look at the deaths on Ancestry for Dora Cross but did not find one that was born 1899 that died 1984. Are you sure of your dates. Regards Irene

I looked again thinking perhaps the dates you gave were for James Cross and not Dora. The James Cross on Ancestry who died at Bolton in 1984 was born 25.05.1899.
I have looked on FreeBMD and there is a James Cross registered at Bolton Sept.1899 as you have six weeks to register a birth this could be him. Perhaps he moved to the Cambridge area and had his family then returned to Bolton.
There is a Dora Ellen Moat born at Ely 1898. Good luck Irene

Hiya Jackie,Irene and julie thanks for looking,I too have been searching and come up with at the 1891 census george age 36 married a Martha 33 with children age at census also Alice 11 George 11 Mary 10 Sarah 8 James 6 {married dora Ellen Moat] and john 1. got James birth from his daughter in law but your dates Jackie dont have Alice and george as twins, but it does look like the family i am seeking. Dora Ellen Moat b1889/1899-d1984 who married James cross b1884 was my aunt from Ely Cambs. Any ideas on how i can look further? thank you all so much. Bea
