Hello Christine A while ago you posted a notice looking for Dowells in 18thC Leicester. My great great grandfather John Dowell (1817-1877) was born in and lived in Markfield in Leicestershire as did his son also John. John's father James was born in 1795 and presumably living there when John was born though I do not know where he himself was born. Do you know anything of them?
