Member Since: October 2004 Posts: 3 Send Message	I'm trying to find any info on William Down[e]s and wife Elizabeth who came to Australia in the 1860s. The family story goes that William was a mariner and that just off the coast of NSW my grandfather was born: Alfred. There must have been other children to the marriage as it is believed that several were drowned in a ferry accident. I have not been able to confirm any of the info. NSW BDMs show one possible Alfred Downes but other details are not as I would expect.
